Dual Award Nominations for the ‘Changemakers in Retail’

At Summit and Productcaster we really do consider ourselves to be Changemakers in Retail. As CEO it’s often asked what does that really mean? and as an agency why do you choose to dedicate yourself to retail?

Being a performance marketing agency means the first and most obvious ‘Changemaker’ behaviour is on performance.  That means improving marketing ROI, winning new customers and helping our retailers and brands grow profits, revenue and market share. At Summit we live and die by our performance and we are able to deliver substantial performance improvements through a combination of;
(i) Time – there is a direct correlation between being in the accounts, that is making the right number of optimisations and improved results
(ii) Experience – we’ve been around for 20+ years, there are very few retail based performance marketing problems we have not solved
(iii) The right technology – at Summit we own our marketing technology – Productcaster and team this with the best in class technology.  Productcaster enables our clients get cheaper CPCs on Google ads, enables them to automate and improve the efficiency of their products feeds and provides access to technical product specialists at the advertising platforms such as Google and Awin (owning and plugging our technology into the platforms mean we work directly with technical product specialists at the advertising platforms not sales people – this is definitely a driver of performance).  

This strategy has enabled us to achieve outstanding results for Sapphire Clinics, surpassing their targets through effective Paid Media campaigns and more than doubling the number of patients they have been able to help. As a result, we have been shortlisted for the ‘Best Digital Marketing Campaign’ in the health and beauty category.

On top of performance, we actively target the best in class within retail to drive our ‘Changemaker’ credentials. This means actively hiring from retailers with nearly half our staff having ‘walked a mile’ in retail roles. We actively target the biggest brands in retail – right now we work with 33 of the top 500 retail brands in the EU including Wickes, Wayfair, Levis, Ikea, etc our footprint in retail is a measure of how are influencing the retail landscape. Lastly, we are the only agency in the UK to have Google Premier Agency badge and have Google Premium Partner status – there is no agency who is more ‘retail ready’ in the eyes of Google with qualifications, certifications or training.

It is this dedication to excellence that has earned us a coveted position as finalists in a second category for the ‘Best Large Digital Agency of the Year.’

We choose to dedicate ourselves to retail because it’s big enough and ugly enough to keep us busy and give us the opportunity to drive the performance improvements we pride ourselves.  Whether it’s setting promotions for weekend or Monday morning reporting, retail is so fast we pour all our energies into being the leader in this space. Vast product ranges, frequent price changes, large consumer cohorts, tens of channels with hundreds of competitors big and small, retail is too big for Summit to share with other industries, so we dedicate all ourselves to making it more likely that customers buy from our clients than anyone else.
