The team at Health and Beauty retailer Face the Future and long-term digital partners Customer First Digital and Green Ginger Digital were delighted to hear the news that they had been nominated for four awards at the 2024 Northern Digital Awards.
All four nominations showcase the diversity of work and continuous innovation carried out across the three business’ in 2023, with improvements to customer experience and new marketing activations being at the centre of Face the Future’s performance growth.

Both of these awards recognise the benefits of investing in a 12-month development roadmap, focussed on the need of the customers. These changes focussed on a mix of initiative from driving new customer acquisition to nurturing customers through retention techniques. All these changes have supported in a 45.8% growth in orders, 34% growth in revenue and 72% in new customers Year on Year.

This nomination epitomises the need to continually test and innovate in a highly competitive market, where paid search costs continue to rise. The team developed a 6 month roadmap to growth the accounts, with amazing results achieved (a 43% growth in revenue and a -10.5% improvement in efficiency).
🏆 Best Digital Marketing Campaign – Health & beauty – With Face the Future
This unique debut campaign allowed digital to meet the physical, with more than 25k customers engaged with over a 5 day period, as the Face the Future team went On The Road to meet existing and new customers. The campaign demonstrated true diversity in the approach to marketing, with a full funnel mix of activities carried out from Social Lives to Programmatic Out of Home.
The Perfect Partnership
Following Paul Thompson and Julia Barcoe Thompson acquisition of Face the Future in February 2020, they quickly reached out to newly launched digital consultancy Customer First Digital, to support their eCommerce growth. Having focussed initially on improving the Customer Experience through a migration to Shopify, Customer First Digital’s focus turned to the marketing of the brand. This included Paid Search activity, with former colleagues Nick Cranwell and Emily Proctor’s newly founded agency (Green Ginger Digital) being introduced.
As they say, the rest is history, Face the Future has delivered significant double-digit growth in revenue, new customer acquisition and lifetime value, which has driven through the collaborative working with the internal team and partners.
